Yin Yoga is a wonderful practice to work with the fascia and other connective tissues for greater flexibility, healthy joints and to release tension and energetic blockages in the body along the Meridian Lines. While a more yang style of activity use movement to strengthen and stretch the muscles, yin yoga targets the connective tissues with poses which are held in stillness for a longer time, often around 3-5 minutes. It is also a great way to quieten the chatter in your mind, to relieve stress and activate the parasympathetic nervous system where we can recover and heal.
